    Blackwater Lotus Flower

Painted in AR3 Studio Pro using oil paint and palette knife. I used a reference photo I shot during vacation on a beautiful day in July 2009 at Rocky Lake in Maine.

Nothing exists until or unless it is observed. An artist is making something exist by observing it. And his hope for other people is that they will also make it exist by observing it. I call it "creative observation." Creative viewing. - William S. Burroughs

That's pretty painting. Very beautiful and a bit mystical.

Great. I am a big fan of botanicals and this is a great shot and a fabulous painting. Makes me think I should do some of my flower shots!

Beautiful. I like your color choice and light handling.
