    A painting I did for a competition - Imbolc.

Okay, on the forums I go on, it's forums about Animal Crossing, the game.
And this is the style of the character.
They told us to paint or draw a picture relating to a holiday held around this time of year.
I did the Pagan holiday, Imbolc, where Pagans gather and do healing spells and such, because it was at this time of year many decades ago, when crops would be dying.
So, traditionally, candles and fires are lit, stories and poems are read and everybody has a good time.
After much research, I've decided that I am Pagan, for I technically worship the Earth, I believe in the Earth Mother, and I agree with the Pagan teachings.
So, without further ado, here is the painting:
(I don't know who's won yet, if you ask. I'll tell you when we find out!)

This is just wonderful and delightful, Weeun and I sure hope you when this deserve to!!!

BTW....your Imbolc is our Groundhog Day here in America. If the groundhog comes out of his hole and sees his shadow, he'll go back into his hole and we'll have six more weeks winter. I found this on Wikpedia in reference to the Irish/Scottish Imbolc tradition:

Thig an nathair as an toll

    Là donn Bŕde,
Ged robh tŕ troighean dhen t-sneachd
    Air leac an làir.

"The serpent will come from the hole
On the brown Day of Bride,
Though there should be three feet of snow
On the flat surface of the ground."

My husband speaks Gaelic with his brother rather fluently and I have to say I have no idea what they are saying for the most part. I think its intentional so I can't tell what they're plotting <lol>!!!

Cute! I like animal crossing. I have the DS and gamecube version, but the gamecube is my brother's, and I don't play it anymore because I resetted too many times and resetti stole my money and my furniture (I think) and made me into this creepy looking person with really weird eyes. Love the picture.

That's a very lovely and kindred heart character you have painted here. Very nice one. Thanks for sharing Pagan's story.
