New Year's Eve - Storm Bank

A little something I worked up tonight during the New Year's Eve wind up here on the West Coast.

The crazy palette kinda matches my mood...

    Happy New Year!

The colors are rich and beautiful, the composition is nice and the forms are dynamic. Nice painting.

    Happy New Year.

Alexandra, I'm glad you like it...Thank you!
Coops, thank you for your compliment about the sky and colors!
Byron, thank you for your note about the colors, composition and forms.

Please see below, a 7 stage progression showing how I started and then just went for it. Basically, I put down some colors, blended them (using Flyashy's blending technique). I worked outwards, seeing and further working shapes and forms as I went. Happy accidents ensued - which is always fun!

For me, the organic and natural workflow in AR3 is absolutely great...especially when I'm doing a quick sketch or speed paint color study.

    Cheers,

    André

Must have been something to see! This painting is really dramatic. Well done.
