    Katrina Revisited

We have just passed the aniversary of Hurricanes Ike & Katrina. This prompted a series of images I created from the devastation, and aftermath. I concentrated on pets and children Here are Three dogs we rescued when we went down to New Orleans to help relatives.

These paintings speak volumes, Skylar...the devastation that these hurricanes left behind is insurmountable. I remember watching Fox News during this time and wondering for days, where was the government's help? It was like I was watching it happen in another country or something. If it wasn't for the wonderful individuals, like yourself, helping others - even the abandoned animals - during this time, I am sure there would have been more lost lives.

Skylar, Total devastation that touched so many, and I agree with een, it was something shocking as there should have been so much more done. My husband had a couple of relatives that they never found. He still has relatives that are rebuilding there. I would have never returned, but many have. I love your paintings and they are so well done. How kind of you also to have rescued these dogs.

Een, Oriane, Alex - Thanks for commenting. These aren't my most technically executed, but they are quite emotional. I went with that rather than for acuracy of painting.

Byron, thank you. This is part of the mass of images I told you I wanted to share. (Even if they were created with 2.5)
