    Pencil and ink pen problem

    Hi,
In XP home 32 bit service pack 3 my pencil and ink pen are unstable using studio, the pencil is fine in rage 2.5.

These tools are also unstable in win7 64 bit using studio pro.
I have a dual boot and am fortunate to have an art rage in each.

When I do lines with these two tools, whatever size I do they shrink back.
I normally sketch first with the pencil tool and do normally use the pencil a lot, the new ink tool I like, but it's unstable say for first drawing eyes.

When I drew mountains the ink pen tool was great, created cracks in the mountains I didn't create, but it looked nice, but I am personally finding problems doing detail, I was wondering whether there is some setting which might help, I was able to draw whiskers with no problem but when I tried to draw the spots which house the whiskers with the pencil or ink tool it was too jittery.
To overcome this at the moment I've made the oil brush tiny and used that.
I have the latest wacom drivers.

But this art rage 3 pro is great software, just love the watercolour and the wet blender is superb and that gloop paint amazing.
Thanks Rage boys for producing this great product.
I'm hoping these little glitches clear up in time.
    Sandyg.

It sounds like the autosmoothing is turned up a bit high.
In the ink pen and precise pencil there is a smoothing option which reapplies the stroke, smoothing out wobbly bits.
Turn that setting down until you get the strokes you like. At 0% post smoothing is entirely removed.
