a simple solution for watercolor paintings (for ArtRage 3 Studio Pro)

well.. I have used a "free "plugin for this experiment (only PC version)

    Filter: Thredgeholder
    http://www.littleinkpot.co.uk/FreePlugins.htm

    1) "FILE / IMPORT IMAGE FILE TO LAYER" to impor your image, and apply Thredgeholder filter for create the sketch

    2) Create a new layer (or more layers) and set "Blend Mode/Tint"

    I recommend these Watercolor presets:
Delicate on Dry, Dried Strokes, Dry on Wet, Wet on Wet

    Yes.
Not all Photoshop plugin filters work. (And you should save your work before testing which ones do work!)
But there are many plugins which do work. Photoshop plugin filter support is only available with ArtRage Studio Pro, not with ArtRage Studio.

"Sure - how hard can it be?"

Norton blocked and remove this when I downloaded it, said it was a risk.

Thanks very much Misterpaint. This looks great. May I ask what paper texture you used? It suits the watercolour very well.

Hi Stefano, always so generous - thanks

What is not clear to me is how you got Thredgeholder plugin into the AR3 UI in the first place?

When you download, it is an .exe file. When you click on it, all you have to do is tell it where you want to place the plugin. For a PC and using AR 3 Studio Pro this would be:

My Computer, Hard Drive Letter, Program Files, Ambient Design, ArtRage Studio Pro, Resources, Filters folder

And then the .exe file will make folders for the Thredgeholder plugin with Folders for what it needs to run.

    Hope this helps,

    Judith
