    Ian McKellen caricature

This is a photo manipulation that I traced over in Artrage. I'm experimenting with the software, seeing how far it can take someone with only a marginal amount of artistic ability.

    Criticism is encouraged.

To be honest, it doesn't look like "a marginal amount of artistic ability" was enough to get an image on this level.
This guy was often caricatured, but I can definitely see the original and creative elements here. Also it seems to render a necessary load of empathy. This is the mix, which maintains art in the caricature. Well done Palex

Thanks, Strandy. I appreciate the kind words and evaluation of the caricature. I have a strong affinity for art, but my base skills could be better. I find that I've been able to do better after studying 3D for a while.

I don't think I know the guy, but the style and mastery shown here are excellent and I'm sure by faith in what I see that the likeness is perfect too.

Caesar, you've probably seen movies with Ian McKellen. He played Gandalf, Magneto, and dozens of other roles. He's not as dour as my caricature makes him out to be.
