    One Layer only.

I just tried to find out what can I draw using just a single layer.
Maybe it's a bit crazy but still... Welcome.

And here's a result. It supposed to be Stephen King's "Dark Tower".

    Free

I do 90% of my ArtRage painting on one layer.
What I need to do is experiment on multiple layers MORE often.

I think you did a great job here, Mr. King would be proud

And I on the opposite often use a lot of layers and layer groups...
For example for a portrait I made for my friend I used separate layer groups for hair, clothes, background, skin and face details, light and shadows.
It helped to change some parts of an image if needed and not spoil the other parts (for me it's still actual)...

Hi - Newbie, Here. This is my first post. I have had AR for about 3 mos now, and do all my works in one layer, so that I experience it as close to traditinal painting as poss.

Thanks so much for the comments. I ran across Art Rage about 3 mos ago. Tried it & bought it on the spot! I Love Art Rage, first of all. I have half a dozen other programs (Inc. Corel Painter11), and this is BY FAR my favorite. It is so easy, intuitive, and fun. I Paint every day, and every day I discover new ways to use this effecient Program. AND, now, having found a community to go with the software, I am just elated!

Welcome Skylar, I see you are doing very well with Art rage, both paintings are very good, but I love the thick textured 2nd one, the grasses are lovely in the foreground and I love the colours, well done and welcome again, this is a lovely community here and we are all addicted to Art rage.

Skylar, your paintings remind me a bit of one of my favorites-Maxfield Parrish. The blues that you add remind me of his parish blue. I especially love old pick up trucks and the additional subject matter combined with your technique is such a treat to my eye. What a pleasure and a big thank you. I know I will not be the only one to enjoy your wonderful contribution to this friendly forum.
