    Corel gets bought out!

Hmm..This could be a golden opportunity for ArtRage 3, depending on what happens to Painter.

Releasing a bug riddled Painter 11 probably didn't help Coral much .

Painter is only one of about 30 products that they own.

Corel Draw probably accounts for a large number of sales. Like it or not, Painter and ArtRage and other art programs are a specialty market that do not drive major company sales.

On the other hand, a small, innovative company like Ambient Design (Art Rage) has much lower expenses and can get an edge by listening to their customers and adapting fast to the changing market. By the time large corporate entities adapt, the market has usually changed.

In today's economy, small companies like AD actually have a major advantage.

I hope that with the buy out Corel is able to focus on its core graphics products like Painter. Even with its flaws Painter is a great product and deserves the continuation of its development.

I doubt it. AD is probably owned by the Rage brothers-a family company if you will!

Or maybe AD is secretly owned by Tycho the Tycoon-that loveable kitty with the money grubbin' paws!

I would think by our support and buying of Art Rage we will help the Ambient Design studio keep in business. If they ever, ever decide to sell, they better let us know first so we can buy them out collectively.

Hope they keep developing Paint shop as well as its a really good alterative to Phototshop and a fraction of the price .
