    I'm not sure where I'm going!

    This began as a doodle (what else?!) but I think I've got the composition wrong. Any comments welcome - please.

    I think the composition you have there is great, good tonal balance, it's fresh, i admire it, keep working on it

    Thanks! That's encouraging to have some fresh eyes see it as working. Now maybe I can work out where to go from here.

    I think you have a nice start here. I like the objects you picked and your color choices. I look forward to seeing the finished painting.

    The only thing that jumped out at me (and I am new to art so I could be way off base here and totally wrong) is the way both the pot handle and knife handle seem to draw a viewer's eye off the page to the right rather than back into the painting. But please remember I'm new to this and do not have a full understanding of composition techniques.

    You´re definitely on the right track! I agree with silentman--there´s a great freshness to the overall design. Keep at it!
