    Sextant

The phrase "til my ships can find the sea" popped into my head. The rest of it mostly wrote itself in about 45 minutes.

please stay here fast beside me
til my ships can find the sea
    i've lost my planned direction
be my sextant guide me free
    to lands and far horizons
that will once and always be
the final port of my mortality.

through all my life my guardian
i have never known your name
yet still i knew your presence
like the candle knows the flame
and like the moth that hovers
    round the light ignoring pain
    i trust in your impartiality

read into it what you will.

    A gentleman and a poet
"I like to have a thing suggested rather than told in full. When every detail is given, the mind rests satisfied, and the imagination loses the desire to use its own wings."

It is somewhat likened unto Robert Frost's Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening
and also much like unto his After Apple Climbing.

I would say you caught the tail of a muse on this one and held on. Fine stuff indeed.
You will stick around awhile for our sake though right?
And art rage rage against the dying of the light.

David, you're welcome my friend and thank you.

KJ, I'm honoured that my words touched you. Thank you my friend.

    Selby, thank you m'lady.

Peter, thank you my friend and you're welcome.

Albert, you flatter me overmuch I do believe by comparing this modest work to my favorite poem and poet. Thank you my friend. Yes, I did have one of those rare and intense experiences of working with a wayward Muse ... and no, I'm not planning on leaving this mortal plane anytime soon.

Silentman. This will go into my folder of gifts from my ArtRage friends. It's wonderful and I'm honoured both that you took the time to do this and that the poem moved you.

Ahhh shucks Robert it was nothing really, i am an intermediate user of Photoshop and have been wanting to make some frames for awhile, your awesome Poem gave me the opportunity, i rarely do things for no reason, even art

If you have Photoshop i can give you the .PSD file, i could also give you a larger file, perhaps a PNG as i was limited by size when posting it here

Silentman, I don't have Photoshop but a larger PNG would be wonderful.
