    It's an obvious choice of interface design on Mocrosoft's part, based on their product design & marketing strategies over the years. The thing is, you can tell people a splat is a pretty landscape, or a bit of shadow play is an elephant, but everyone will eventually understand that it's just another splash on the wall.

    lol, i actually want this to work with 3d sculpting programs more than painting, but hey, if they can give me splotches of paint right now I'll take that even!!!!

    P.S. Crazyquilt, erm.. isn't all painting eventually just splotches of paint..? some smaller than others and organised better..but splotches for sure..!

    I'm with you fly... for animation, sculpting, rotoscoping, motion capture this technology would rock. When the paint tools themselves refine more it would be awesome to map in your favorite brushes (like they do with the skateboard in the game video) and then use those to paint with

    The technology got wicked feedback from developers at E3 who are all keen to implement it so there should be some cool stuff brewing in the 5 yr pipeline.
