WIP - Cunningham C-4R at Le Mans

    Hi,

Sorry to say I haven't been around in a couple of years, but I just got ArtRage 2.5 up and running on my new Linux install and wanted to take a shot at a new painting. It's 18 X 24 inches at 300 dpi, since I want to see how AR performs with a large file and 8 gig of RAM. So far so good; nice and smooth (better than on XP with 3 gig ). This is just the drawing so far, hope to start painting in the next couple of days.

This is the #3 Cunningham C-4R and the #20 Mercedes 300SL exiting Dunlop corner about 2 hours into the 1952 24 hrs at Le Mans.

Drawing done. I'll refine the background, spectators, etc. as I paint.

Amazing, I'll definitely be following this one's progress

How long would you estimate its taken you to get this to this stage ?

Thanks for the comment Juz. I'm pretty slow and just getting used to ArtRage again, so I'd say about 20-22 hours spread over 6 days. The real world intrudes too much .

Added some color to get started on the end game. This is always the stage where nothing looks right and I feel like giving up. At least with digital, you can simply keep trying until you get it right. I do find myself wishing for a wider flat brush, but this is a nice program to paint with.

I'm not looking forward to populating those grandstands though .

Widened the course on the left (the pavement was pretty wide in that area), straightened the bridge out some. Fleshing out the 300SL.

The Dunlop Bridge is soaking up a lot of time.
