Artrage Soft-Edge Technique - Separating a Photo subject from a background

    Hi Ragers
I wrote this tutorial to help Madge with an issue she was having, however anyone who is looking to get softer edge blends will find tips in here that can be useful.

I'm putting the tutorial over several posts in this thread in order to not have one overwhelmingly large one.

Happy to hear any questions, comments or feedback from you

Turn off visibility on the layer you used to create the stencil....

If you wish to take this subject over to the target image rather than import the target image into this one:-

-from the feather subject layer's flyout choose 'Export Layer...'
-choose either .Png or .Psd filetype in order to preserve the alpha transparency

-Open your target image as a new document. From the file menu select 'import image to layer'

-Position and scale as required, Click OK.

Grab smaller erasers to touch up or scrub edges for fur etc.
