You do have a very cute GF their flyashy! Lol... Anyway, hmmm... iridescent coloring, that's a tough one. I played around with it a little on some bird feathers I was trying to paint but couldn't get the effect I wanted. You may want to mess around with the metallic setting using subtle iridescent colors on a seperate layer and then messing around with the opacity of that layer. Im sure their is a way to capture it! Perhaps our friend Taron will see this thread and help out, he is a genius with light properties. Well good luck, I will keep my eye on this post because I am curious also!

I attached an image you might be able to pull some colors off and play with to create the pallet and maybe use as a reference for the effect on fish. Hope it helps a little!

    Ashy, funny re: GF.

And Sketch, that's terrific, I never would have figured that out. Going to try that sometime (yeah, I keep saying that.. time is not something I have a lot of, at least not FREE time!)

Good luck Ashy, I'll be watching this one.

    Thanks sketch.
I hope Taron picks this out too..in the meantime I am referring to pictures too, and have sort of come to a conclusion that it's going to be in terms of teeny-weeny strokes of different colors applied in a over-all gradation, that might do the trick..
i'm experimenting on small images, lets see...

    Thanks Rose,
I figured I could increase the footfall to this thread by deliberately using a innocently suggestive term.

Ok, worked on my GF for a bit..
I'm not too sure if it's improvement or not..
the vibrancy is still missing..I think I over blended everything..& turned it to mush.
Oh well back to the drawing board.

I think it is absolutely lovely Flyashy. The colours are great, don't be so hard on yourself I think you have done a wonderful job. Maybe a little glint in the eye would help.
