Does anybody know how to upload/import new images/pictures in new layers while maintaining the images imported in underlying layers.(so without replacing these images)? Thank you

Going to File and selecting "Import Image to Layer..." should import each image to separate layers, which can then be manipulated separately. If you select "Import Image", ArtRage will bring the image in as if you are starting a new painting, making that image the only one available, so be sure not to confuse the two options.

Is there a way of scaling the images in the different layers?

Yes there is. Just do the following:

1 - Right Click on the layer you wish to transform (or left click on the gray triangle icon on the bottom left of the layer box) to open the layer menu.

2 - Select the Transform Layer Contents option.

3 - The screen will go into it's layer transforming mode and a floating panel will appear at the bottom of the screen. Use this panel to Move, Scale and Rotate the layer. You will also find other options, such as Flipping the layer on the versicle or horizontal, if you click on the gray arrow of this panel.

4 - When you are done editing the layer, click on the OK button to set the changes.
