I posted this on another thread and an AR friend thought it would be good to put it here. Anyhoo, here it is.

USING STENCILS ON A MAC:

To open your stencils, the panel is at the bottom of your AR screen. "Click" on the little thing that looks like a four leaf clover and a window will pop up.

TO LOAD MISTERPAINT STENCILS and others>

1> go into your main file window
2> click on the "Library, Applications Support, and ArtRage 2, or your version.
3> click on "Resources, Stencils."
4> move the stencil files into the "Stencil folder."
5> Open the ArtRage program
6> Open the stencil panel at the bottom of the screen
7> Scroll down to the list with the slider on the left and select the place you want to store the stencil. For example, "Fun." Then the "Add New Stencil" window."
8> Use the same procedure as listed in #1-4 above to access your "Stencils" folder
9> Click on the stencil you want to load and it will appear in the "Add New Stencil" box in the ArtRage program

TO MOVE STENCILS: simply "right click" on the orange area of the stencil and "drag."

TO ENLARGE or REDUCE STENCILS> use "option, right click, and drag." It is better to shrink your AR window when you do this so the stencil will not be over the canvas when you resize it. *Make certain that your pointer is over the orange part of the stencil because it won't work if your pointer is in one of the spaces. If you happen to resize the stencil with it placed over the canvas you might notice your canvas moving flipping around, and then you have to reposition it. If this happens just use the same process to reposition it -- "option, right click and drag." In this way, the canvas can be flipped all the way around for ease of use when drawing lines and so forth. It can be moved up and down by simply right clicking and dragging. You can do this as long as it is not at the 100% size. It has to be reduced a little for manipulation.

TO FLIP STENCILS AROUND> "command, right click, and drag." Again, make certain the pointer is over the orange part of the stencil.

HIDING THE STENCIL> *"right click" for the stencil menu with your pointer over the stencil. A window will pop up with your options. If you have a problem here (sometimes it does not pop up on mine), then click on "tools," then "stencil options" and "hide stencil."

TO LOAD STENCILS FROM A DISK:

1> Click on the stencil panel at the bottom of the screen"
2> Click on the arrow in the top right corner of the stencil window
3> Click on "Load Stencil from a Disk

TO MANAGE YOUR STENCILS>

2> Click on the arrow in the top right corner of the stencil window
