    Apologies

Sorry I havenīt been participating/commenting as much as usual. Iīd like to say itīs because Iīve been so busy painting. However, itīs because some "crass soul" (well at least it rhymes with what I thought ) has been cutting the fiber optic cable that connects our island with the rest of the world. Sometimes we have no connection; sometimes itīs on again/off again with no warning.

Itīs nuisance enough causing problems with the internet connection, but it also means that there are no ATM machines, no activity in the banks, no cell phones, no long distance, no transactions via credit cards.

Well, what can you expect living at the end of the world.

Scott, what a bother! You have a good excuse, so we will not be too hard on you for lack of participation. We do however miss seeing you!

    Hi Scott,

Yes, sometimes we aren't able to pop in for a visit to this wonderful community as much as we would like (for whatever reason). I must say, if I do not get my daily AR fix, I get cranky Even if I don't necessarily post anything, I just have to see what my fellow AR'ers are up to.

As Lee says, glad you're OK mate.

May I suggest you that you use the downtime to paint something extra special for us and show it off when you're all fixed up again.

    Cheers,

    Yvan.

No need for apologies here Scott! It happens to all of us at times. I comment when I find (have) time but sometimes life gets busy. Totally cool

    Scott,
What is going on with the internet there?
    Is this literally true?
    Is it political? Economic?
    What the heck?

Anyway, have a good break from it all... hope you are back soon. Enjoy the
time to paint! Take care... Albert

Thanks for the replies! Obviously there is no problem right now.

Gzairborne: yes itīs a real thing. In 2007 it happened for days at a time when the then governor thought he could keep negative press from the people during his failed re-election bid. It has happened from time to time since then, but not as frequently as of late.

    Thanks again, guys!

I remember that episode with the former governor, but didn't hear anything of these new hardships lately. I can imagine how furious you and the rest of "fueguinos" must feel. Hope it'll be solved for good. My best.
