    Derwent Pastel Pencils: are good?

Has anybody used pastel pencils from Derwent before? I need something cheap but not too bad for an emergency and I'm thinking of acquiring a box from this brand. My budget is $20 and a need a 24 set at least.

I work a fair amount in pastel and I have to say that the Derwents are okay. The colour range is quite good but I've found that the "crumbliness" varies from set to set. Should suffice if you are a student and need a pencil style pastel. Otherwise I'd spring for some Conté a Paris, Van Gogh or Faber-Castells.
