    Sunsets - Advice?

Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to draw a realistic sunset?

    Hi.

I'm not a art-specialist but my thought is that first must look carefully sunset many evenigs. Look and found that feeling.

    Three things.

Color, form and motion, rise up when look sunset.

After that watching sunset need only paint, paint, and paint. Learn how paint-tools work.

    Color, form and motion.

When paint, can forget motion, because paint-image is still-image, so then need to draw only first, form and then color. Form or objects shape or how do you say it in english.

Easy start is to try to found colors without forms. Because it is much more difficult step to draw forms without tracing.

Open new painting small size example 500*500.
Select edit paper settings opacity 0.
Then use oilpencil full loading and pressure.
    And test different colors.

Form, colors and when skills grow then can learn to add shadows and light.

Mainly, when draw, can see own mind when it is good and when it is not good drawing.

Hope, this give some help to start.

    br.Heikki.

ps. Sunset has thousands and thousands different colors and forms so all drawings are new drawings.

I like to use rich orange and brown colors and silhouettes. You can see an example in an earlier post here.

Water is often an attractive choice for a sunset scene for it's reflections. If you have more specific questions about this just PM me and I'll do my best.
    Be well,
