    HELP! Skin tutorial?

Hey guys, I just recently got started in ArtRage (still running the free version until payday -- YAY!) and I'm just beginning to paint(never had an experience painting before). I was wondering if anyone had a good tutorial for painting skin? Misterpaint was nice enough to create a tutorial for hair but the skin stll eludes me.

    Any help is appreciated! THANKS!

Depends on what type of skin you want to paint, are we talking just nice smooth complexion, or closeup with pores and freckles. I've always been able to achieve smooth skin with airbrushes, and then freckles with certain stencils (by Misterpaint of course).

    hi!
I use feltpen for my paintings
4 colors for caucasian skin (to the beginning).

to create imperfections on the skin you can use the stencils, as shown below.

    TEXTURES for this example:

the best solution is experimenting with different textures

Ooh, that's a good one, Is that in your stencil pack? I experimented with freckles with a few of your other stencils and it worked really well.

Great help guys! I've never attempted painting -- so far it's WAY harder than some of the more senior members make it look!

I was working with a painting but ran into problems when it came to skin. I just could NOT find a realistic tone and the fact I had painted a dark background first meant the paint smeared.

Alas, when my new iMac arrives in 4-6 weeks you'd better believe I'll be jumping on ambientdesign.com and downloading the full version!
