When the camera can get stuff like this, why would anyone want to trouble with painting? That comment was only partially facetious.
You have a remarkable gift for imagery, and possibly also your selection of environment -- home as well as travels.
There is something of a dialog that you have happening. I think intention is somehow the key to it. It's as if the world delivers in certain respects what we are seeking if we're consistent and participating. Weather and so forth is not just a corny device for dramaticists to make the environment reflect the main character's emotions. I think it really does happen to some degree. And sometimes writ large in order to communicate something, or could be looked at that way to see if it does in fact fit. I can sorta relate this to what little I know of you from your postings on this site. It's a symbolic fit.
Please keep posting your work, whether painted or not. It's all part of the art and will work its way back into painting one way or another.
