Looking great so far, that's gonna be a nice one..I like to put the eyes and mouth on a seperate layer, that way it's easier to see how it looks as you blend to them..There is no one right way of doing it just whatever works for you...

oh i do more than that. i have a layer for the whites of the eyes, followed by a layer for the irises, then a layer for the pupils and highlights, then a layer for skin, then a layer for the eyelashes and usually the eyebrows too. for the lips i have a layer for the inside of the mouth, a layer for the teeth, the skin layer and then the lipcolor.
can you tell i'm an a/r perfectionist when it comes to this?

however, my desk and my closet look like a tornado struck them. makes my husband insane to no end.

Nice work. It will be interesting to see it progress.

The lady in your work appears as older/more mature than the one in the photo. Is that intentional?

It sounds like you are more extreme than I am.. I use 4 layers for the eyes and mouth then merge them together on one layer before doing the rest of the painting. That's what all those layers are for.....

Coming along nicely. I look forward to the finished piece.
Just say: "Rage It", because we already know it's art.

can anyone give me advice on her hair? gray and white makes her look old. i tried blue on the left (for the cool light on that side) and red on the right for the reflection/inside lighing coming from that side.
