Question Can Art Rage 2.5 be used for 2D Animation?

I have only ever done traditional, long drawn out Animation. Have a project in mind and would love to animate with the aid of my new cintiq for that feel similar to Alexander Petrov's The Old Man and the Sea.

But is it feasible to use Art Rage? Has anyone ever tried it?

I also have the following on my G5 mac; need to master all of these:
    Motion - version 1
    Flash version 7.2
    Final Cut Pro HD 4.5
    DVD Studio 3
    After Efects 6.5
    Photoshop Version 8

    - are any of these compatible with ArtRage?
    Thanks!

The old man and the sea was done by using oiled base paint on glass.
You might allready know this. The oil used is specily treated so it won't dry.
As he draws he loses any reference to a previous drawing.

You can't do it with AR or anything similar because AR wont capture images.
You would have to screen capture.
Otherwise you would have to pile up a whole bunch of layers and then export each layer.
You then import each image into Flash or Photoshop.
Best would be to import using the QT Pro "open sequence feature". You can import a series of images at any frame rate.
Depending on resolution your pictures will be more or less big.

    HD = 1920 X 1080

Designing characters or objects in AR is fine. You can then export the image and import it into Flash.
Flash is used as a simple animation container.

You could import AR art work in other programs. It really depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it.
You just have to choose the right format and decide on the workflow.

You can import the PNGs into Flash or you can use QT Pro to make a sequence at whatever frame rate you wish.

I prefer to use AR just to design and then use another software for the animation.

One could also do screencaptures of the same frame that is being painted on.
It would be a bit like working with Paint on glass.

Next: I export layer by layer as a png-file to use in my animator.
    Exactly what I meant.
It would be nice if you could post a small sample or a liink to the animation.
