    masking

Is there such a thing as masking an image so that when painting it will only paint either the inside or outside of the drawing.

That or a fill tool -- to fill in a shape with color.

    Thank you,

    Sara

There's loads of tutorials available, have a look in "tips and tricks"
Here is one to make your own masks, but you can use (your own )stencils as well

    hope to be of help.
Just say: "Rage It", because we already know it's art.

I have a little trick, i create another layer, and color over what I want masked exactly in a solid bright color. Then I create a stencil of that layer, then clear the layer and invert the stencil and you have a mask. Or just stencil what you want masked if it is all in the same layer and invert the stencil. Creates the same effect.
