Portrait Sketch WIP (updated Oct 12)

First I thought it's just a sketch didn't think I will continue from it. But after a break, I came back to it and add some colors. So I moved this from Art project one hour thread to this WIP section. It's the first time I sketch from the TV screen. I think because I really like this actor, Huge Laurie. Maybe it's not really alike this time. Welcome any comments and suggestion.

Looks like you've been painting a House.

I was painting my bathroom tonight (for real). But they look very different.

    Nice work Pai!!!!

I think it could use a bit more contrast. A darker background would work very well on this. Other than that, it's a very good portrait (I don't know the actor, but hey.. i like it)

    Thumbs up Very nice start

I love House, this is a good start, and so hard to work from a TV when the characters are moving all over the place!

Thank you Misterpaint, D Akey, Rage and Dali for the kind words. I have made the background a little bit darker. Hope it's better. I guess I will leave it as is. The second sketch looks not alike than the first one. (maybe his brother) I think I need to paint him more.

If I may say so, I would work a little more on the darker areas, it will add depth to your nice portrait.

It's coming along rather nice. I like it !
Just say: "Rage It", because we already know it's art.

Thanks a lot Hanzz for the advices. Do you mean the first painting? That one I don't have any references anymore. Do you mean thinking of the dark area on the face when the light isn't hit on it. Ok, I will give it a try but I am not sure if I will totally change his look. ..ha..ha.
