Paint my horse
Hi Guys & Gals,
Thought I'd try something different for this.
I took the 3d model of a rocking horse that comes with my modeling proggie. I made a few modeling adjustments to it and rendered the assembled model in Carrara with no textures (just a dull grey clay).
I then rendered each individual part (body, eyes, ears etc.), again without textures. I then took the images into AR by importing each to a new layer (import image to layer).
The images attached are the ones I imported into different layers in AR. You are welcome to download them and play around with them, erasing the hidden parts and painting/texturing the horse.
If you look at the assembled horse, you will see which parts of the horse should be hidden (erased), for instance its right eye and part of its tail... I'm sure you get the idea.
You should import all images to transparent layers. I used the cell preset canvas.
The images are all png's with transparent backgrounds. They are all 1024 X 768 big. Click on them to open fully in your browser and then download.
Also play around with blending modes.
Because the backgrounds of the images are transparent, you can easily convert them to stencils (convert layer to stencil-option) and use them as guides while painting.
I also include my (poor) attempt at texturing the horse. I'm sure that you can do better
Enjoy and show us what you can come up with.
