    Santo Niņo

Iīm not very religious, but Iīm a great admirer of Latin American religious folk art. I have a small collection of hand carved wooden santos (bultos) from various places and of varying ages. I like the homemade quality and the brightness of the colors--well whatīs left of them and what hasnīt fallen off after many years.

This little guy is one of them. Heīs missing a hand and his nose is broken, but heīs still interesting to me.

Iīm still working on the initial blending; then, a lot more time working on the details. (All ArtRage, oils, canvas, and palette knife.)

Yeah, it's a fine painting of a sculpture. Interesting character using distressed art as a subject for a painting. Unique look. I like it!
