    Onions

    Yep, just onions.

As you can see from the tracing, IŽve got a long way to go--donŽt I always? IŽm just doing the basic blocking and blending as I go. The details will follow later. (I hope.)

Maybe if this turns out okay, I can become the guru of onions, just like Rick and his grapes and wine. Somehow, I think he got the more glamorous job.

As always, weŽll see what happens here.

Oh, I just have such a good feeling about this one. The first word that popped into my mind on seeing it was "Rick". I'm not kidding.

Wow! I was just finishing uploading and correcting my message and you, pai and Robert, were there when I returned.

    Thanks so much pai.

Robert, that "first word" you mentioned is quite a compliment. I hope you still think so when I get done.

    Saludos amigos!

It looks to be an ambitious project for sure but I think you've already succeeded even if you just erase all the tracing lines and add just one more onion to the bottom right that is in keeping with the quality you've already established.

WOW. You're following the path of Rick making what seems to become a stunningly good still life!

Thanks so much, Caesar and Robert. Your comments always mean so much! WeŽll see what happens.

(Robert IŽll keep your idea of an abbreviated version in mind. I sometimes get lazy--like all the time? )

Brings tears to my eyes. . .

Really great colors and the values make them read really well. The nice thing is that you take them to black as they go into the shadows, which nicely integrates them into a dramatic piece about lighting.

Can't wait to see what else is going to appear.

Thanks so much Rick and D Akey!

Right now thereŽs an obstacle in the path. I deleted my ptg file by mistake. I could start anew, but I spent many hours up to that point and IŽm not sure I want to repeat all that work. WeŽll see if I can recover anything useful.
