    Dancing Beta - FINAL PIECE

    glad the forum is back!

I've started a new piece and hope to stick inside the AR interface for the full duration.

Sketches were conducted with Velum overlaying for ease of change and experimentation.

    Reference Photos

NitroNori, my beta was kind enough to pose for a few snap shots for reference.

    Background of choice

I overpainted a water photo out of my digital collection. I find simple overpainting to be fun therapy to loosen the mind and not worry about rules. It's more like play than painting. I took it as far as I felt necessary to work within the layout nicely.

    And we're off!

A warm palette against the water yellow to orange to red....
I'll be using the airbrush for these layers and to the end...i think.

Very interesting to watch your progress/process. Post #3 sort of looks like Escher.

Looking forward to the next stages!

Dear Calzgal, so far, so pretty, it is going to look very oriental?

    thank you for the thoughts.
Lee, I'm not sure where this is going now. The painting seems to have taken a righthand turn in my head. The background, although rich, was too much for the idea. Overpowering for no point other than itself.
Which isn't much of a reason.

So I've taken the background down a notch in attention grabbing, but have kept the color palette intact. I've also used it to strengthen the Fibonnoci Curve in the layout.

Doing this has empowered the drawing itself..and now that you mention Asian/Oriental impact...that inspires me to turn left!! Thanks Lee!
