    Dear irishrose,
"A gallon of gasoline for your thoughts"? ROTFL!!! That is the funniest
line that I have heard in ages, will have to remember it for future
    reference.

    Dear Caesar,
That Spanish olive with an attitude was actually meticulously hand carved
out by my daughter with a sharp knife then a photo was taken of the little
morsel. We laughed and laughed at the sight of it. I just added the
appropriate hat for added effect. As to not insult "our" Italian heritage I am
happy to say that black olives are my favorite, love them. Oh the glory of
black olives on pizza, in salads, etc.. If left alone I could devour an entire jar
    of them.

And the rest of the story goes, that when Ms. Dotes was cleaning the jar,
a magic 'ginnie' appeared! And as fortune would have it, Mair's first wish
    was for two olives!

    Magnifico!!!!!!!

    Dear Kindly D Akey,
    OMG, OMG, OMG and WHOOHOO!
I have finally found the stuffed (or "full of it!") olive, err, man I love!
Sooooo perfectly matched we are, floating in a Martini sea of love and
pickled, fermented bliss. Me thinks, though that my yummy tid bit of
affection may have swallowed just a touch too much of the contents
of our "sea of love", romantic environment for he seems to have lost
contol of his exceptionally muscular tongue. ROTFL!!!

Your entry is wonderfully and whimsically created, D Akey. As previously
mentioned, someone should bottle your humor for it would be a best
seller. Thank you for the great image. Still laughing, laughing, laughing,
    eh? and phew !

No insult, dear Mair, but as an information, we do have any type of olives of any size or vines, including black olives and also "the wrinkled" ones ... and I'm not making any malicious implication with what i say! LOL
Probably we don't leave enough of them to export and certainly US rules for importing or carrying food are quite obsolete as a minimum.
After all everything with olives possibly started on the Eastern Mediterranean countries (Greece etc.) to then find since long time ago in Hesperia (the ancient name of Italy) and its different places climates, a place to spread in all its variety when Spain was still under Chartago domination!
    Panta rei (everything flows)!

Mair, glad you liked the line about the gasoline, you have my permission to use it, though it is copyrighted haha...

DA, great pic! Yes, I figured that would be Mair's first wish!

And you really should bottle the humor, it is awesome! This has been the funniest thread ever, so glad you're here Mair (except for all the money I have to put on for Depends!) ROFL!!!!

Keep up the smilin, and yes, I do love black olives too, the green ones, well, they make me feel green when eating them. Blech! What's the point of the red thing in it?? Christmas coming early? OY!

    Dear irishrose,
Ahhhhh, you know me all too well! You might be interested in hearing
my favorite song. Shall I clear my throat and sing you a few lines ?
    Ahem, ahem, ahem . . . here goes . . . .

Some day my prince will come
    Some day we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever I know

Some day when spring is here
    We'll find our love anew
    And the birds will sing
    And wedding bells will ring
Some day when my dreams come true

Sniff, would someone please pass the box of Kleenex? I am overcome!

This thread stays one of the most interesting in the whole forum I even hesitate if I should break the current discussion with a new painting..as it is not about olives or about love... but indeed, it has something to do with music! (By the way- Mairzie Dotes,is there a link to some page where you can listen to that song? I could not make out the melody.. or please can you sing it again? )
So, here's my painting..can you recognize it?
