    Paint thickness

    Hi Ambient team,

I have a question regarding paint thickness of imported images.
Basically, I use to "pre-paint" scaned images in photoshop, using the paint bucket tool, to fill color in"within the lines" (I've been asking such a tool for Artrage, but nobody felt really interested in.... http://www2.ambientdesign.com/forums...002&highlight=) :?

Ok, then I import the resulting PNG (or PSD) image in AR and begin to paint over. The whole imported picture (even not painted white area) is like filled up with ultra thick-paint. This is very disapointing. Very heavy impasto.

You can try importing a white image and then use the knife, you'll see I mean....

So, my question is, do you know a way to specify the value of thickness of paint when importing a image (I guess not!) or don't you think that could be a nice feature to implement in a further AR release?

e.g. a value of 1 would be flat color, and 100 ultra thick.

I must say I find this thickness issue very annoying.

Anyway, keep up the great work, I love AR!

    Cheers,
    -Sar

    Hi Sar,

No easy way to do this, so here is the difficult way.

    Import the image.

Make a tiny hole through the paint with the Eraser.

Using Paper settings, reduce the Opacity to 0%

Then Export the image as a .png.

Then Import the image and it will now have a much thinner depth of paint.

Ambient know about this problem and this is the temporary fix.

    Hi Aged P

    Thanks for your quick reply!
I tried your trick and it works indeed. Cool!
Though this is not very convenient....
Hope Ambient team will fix this in a short coming release.

    Merci,
