    How to draw straight lines?

    Hello everybody!

I am new to this forum. Have just bought Artrage - have already used the starter edition - and I love Artrage!

How do I draw straight lines? i.e. without using the ruler. Or is it not possible with Artrage?

    Thanks in advance

As of now, you have to use the ruler from the stencil section yes. A trick,
if you have a drawing tablet, might be to use the edge of a CD cover or a plastic ruler as a guide. There is no keyboard command to constrain lines to being straight vertically or horizontally within the program and no automatic straight line tool.

Being able to draw straight lines has been suggested and added to the list of features that could be added.
Will the feature make it to the next update ?

Thanks for the replies - I am already using a plastic ruler! I thought there may be some hidden facility to draw straight lines - may be undocumented!

    Thanks again

Okay wait...? When you say you are already using a "plastic ruler", do you mean to say it's a physical ruler that you are placing down on your drawing tablet? Because there is also a virtual "ruler" that you can use in the program. Just click on the stencils tab at the bottom of the screen (point "A" in my attached image) and select the "Ruler" tab (point "B") on the window that appears. Then click on the ruler image (point "C") to place an instance of the ruler on the canvas. It works just like a real ruler would (with some extras).

I find there is no practical way to draw a straight line, even with the ruler.
It does work but it is not precise and we end up retouching.
Maybe it is only me ?

The best solution would be to have a line tool.
Since lines are very practical also in paintings and drawings I do feel it should be a tool.

You are correct Hammy. The free version does not include the stencil options (which includes the ruler).
