    ArtRage Evangelism.

I do hate to ask but...

ArtRage has only a very small advertising budget - that's one of the ways we keep the price so low. Because of this we rely on 'word of mouth' for people to find out about ArtRage.

So put up enthusiastic messages on your blogs, in comments to other blogs and forums, on your web pages, on your social network sites, in your chatrooms - anywhere and everywhere, tell people how great ArtRage is. Put up links to really cool pictures from the Ambient Spotlights forum, point people to the ArtRage home page. Tell people how much value they get for the modest sum of US$25

Spread the word, and help us to keep ArtRage cheap, and developing.

    Thanks!

Not a problem Andy. I've always talked ArtRage up given the chance. I just had another idea: I'll add a line to my email signature.

I really don't think you have to ask, lol. This is such a great program, I'd be surprised if everyone here hasn't been doing it already...

Personally, I've been posting my artwork on my MySpace page where I display the programs name in the title and provide a link to the trial download page and encourage people to test it out. I also have been posting in various forums I visit, asking who was aware of the program and telling anyone who was looking for good tool for computer art to look you up. I think some of them believe I work for you because I mention it so much, lol.

yep, me too. I post blogs about artrage on stumbleupon as well as artwork. Also comments at macheist, macworld, wet canvas and wherever the topics of great software value or painting programs comes up. As well as online friends and family.

Ive been mentioning the program on other forums, when it seemed appropriate. And I mention it to everyone who asks me how I do the digital drawings/paintings I do. As for development money, maybe we could do a bake sale using the cookies mentioned by GZ in another post

    I know!!!

We could get a bot and SPAM the pornographers! But only after 9:00. Some limits need to be set.

    Hahah.

Sure. I'm all for the word of mouth thing. Only so many artists or aspiring artists read articles on software. And ArtRage is more like an impulse buy -- as in "Hey, that looks really fun and easy!"

I just stumbled onto it by accident before you were promoting it much. Had that not happened, I doubt I would have been aware it existed. I don't read the magazines and almost never shop for software that I don't know.

You guys have really been on promoting it, I must say.

Your request is noted. I hope we all can share the joy with others. This is one groovy program that just about anyone with eyes can get into.

There are promotional ideas too, drawings for a free copy for people who sign up or whatever is another idea. Like they had on that site you just got reviewed at, that had the video demo.

I would also note that most plug-ins for Photoshop etc are more expensive than ArtRage. I wouldn't be shy about showing how working back and forth to get certain effects and looks is possible. Think about it.

I don't know if you want to go down that road, because you may get pegged as an addition to other programs rather than stand alone. But it is a way to tap into a highly visible market. . . depends on your vision.

I think you should get ahold of Steve Jobs and offer it as part of the mac operating system or in the ilife package along with imovie, idvd, garage band, iphoto, etc.

I love spreading the word on ArtRage. The fact is that I can't stop myself sometimes (just ask my co-workers).

We all-ready do. We all-ready do!

One thing Andy. I'm often thinking that we give back so much on the forum with tips and tricks etc. But the tricks kind of drown in the big sea. It might be an idea to somehow collect the knowhow in a more structured/approved way. Kind of like you have tried to pin out some of our artworks in the Ambient Spotlight. Kind of like an online magazine or something. Or with some YouTube shows.

I know it would take someone with journalistic skills and lots of free time. But I still think it... DoodLS
