    Layer texture reset button

Sometimes, when having a pile of layers with too much texture, painting over could get difficult or disturbing because of that impasto effect. I wish I had a « reset thickness » button on each layer to fix the paint thickness to 0 or some average value.
It is not a big issue, but when you’re working again and again on a painting, that you keep mdifying, you just want sometimes to get rid of all the « old » texture effect on the layers below that you don’t want to see anymore.

    Just a thought …

Check out the Bump Blend menu.
In recognition that you may not want your bump from the layer below affecting the layer you're painting on, you can change the bump blend mode so paint on the layer above completely replaces bump on the layer below.
    To test this...
On the base layer, paint with thick oils.
Add a new layer, and set the bump blending to 'Replace'.
Now paint overtop with the airbrush, and watch it squash out all the bump.

It's kinda fun to put big wodges of tube tool and glitter down on a layer, and then on a layer above play with the airbrush with the bump blending to replace.
Yeah, I know.... simple things amuse me.

Y'know, I think you should do a tutorial on how to use the bump blending modes in a real situation.
You'd do a much better tutorial than I'm capable of.
