Very dramatic demon painters!

I have tried painting smiles on people's faces from time to time. But this looks more intense.

Fine work, Pai!

Absolutely wonderful! Apart from from being very well done painting it has a certain message for me: we can create the world around us by simple manipulations. Just give another colour to the subject and you'll see the reality as something different :)

Hi pai, this is simply wonderful. Great vibrant colors. Perfectly drawn. You can really feel the concentration of the person, the ambient silence and their form of respectful but intimate friendship. You deeply impressed me with this painting pai.

Well done and very nice. I like to see this action. The colors and its combination made your paint looking real. You are master with tools and technique in 'people painting'

01-10-2008, 10:48 AM
Pai, this is an excellent painting. I believe it is one of your best. Wonderful.

Hi D Akey, EB, Bumble, Is_It, Rioz, barnburner, Peter, Caesar, Nika, Belvrog, GZ, shirly, Khalid and Bobbi, thank you very much for all the kind words and glad you all liking it. :) :) :)

@D Akey, sorry to give you an intense feel. :)

@Nika, I really like the way you see and interpret this painting. Just add one color to anything, it changes totally different feel. :)

@Belvrog, you have made my day. You see what exactly why I did this painting for. The friendship in art. I'm so happy. :)

@Khalid, your kind words made me blushed. I'm still in trying out all the tools especially when I did this piece. Lots of the time I don't know what tool settings can create the textures I want. It was frustrated.

It's about art performers. (all kind of artists, painters, musician, dancers...even programmers....etc) before they show their art piece in front of the audience, the preparation and helping each others so as to bring out the best as they can. It's all about art around the world. I just introduce our art culture, chinese opera.

This is so far the most challenging piece for me. Like the hand, I have to use my own hand as a reference.

Actually, this piece is especially made for my father memorial day which was yesterday. That's why a little bit rush and too tired to correct lots of minor spots.

01-11-2008, 06:48 AM
Great work Pia, are these performers in a Chinese opera?

01-11-2008, 11:08 AM
Interensting, expressive and impressive. It's a little recursive, painting the painting :D

But the way this paint make me feel some kind of peace, order... thanks Pai.

Simply stunning!

Thank you Brian, Asincrono and Bob for the kind words and very pleased you like this painting. :) :)

@Brian, yes they're performers in Chinese opera. Sometimes it requires 6 to 7 hours to do the costume and face-makeup. :)

Hi Pai, I saw a couple of opera's when we lived in Singapore and Malaysia. I thought the were wonderful and so very colourful.

I love how you managed to put motion into his hand, while keeping both men otherwise perfectly still. That is so cool.

01-13-2008, 05:36 PM
Thank you Adam and glad you like it. :)

Brian, so cool, you lived in both tropical countries. You must see lots of places just like Khalid's paintings with lots of green and sunshine . :)
