THe Easy way is to reduce the size of your paper to 600 pixel width and use the roller on 250 percent size, using the crumpled paper grain... or you could simply use Jacks Sky Stencil....Have fun...Jack.

I have a SEA stencil but couldnt post it attachment tooooo big, I will look into how I can do this for you... dont forget, if you dont know how to put these into Artrage Stencils folder....copy the stencil..go to your computer..go to program files.. then ambient design... then Artrage... then Rescources...then stencils.... pop them in there, and they will be there for your use when you open Artrage the next time.... have fun with these dear friends..... Jack.( Oh and if you want me to re-post the paper grains for grasses, rock faces ,rain snow,.etc , please let me know, and I will post them here for your use....Jack..

Wow, Jack... the tree stencils themselves are priceless... thanks for that!

The sea stencil looks incredible too, what about making a foam stencil to go with it??

Thanks again!

Thanks Guys...I have found a sea stencil that I made a while ago, its very basic, but is a fast way to get some sea into a picture, you can change it at will,as you wish...this is meant to be an assistance to the artist, and can save a lot of time and effort, please feel free to alter any of these stencils as you see fit....have fun.....Jack.

I'm not seeing any link to actually download the stencils mentioned in this thread... Are they still available?

I'm quite certain I'm doing something wrong since so many have thanked the OP for the great stencils, I simply can't see what it is I've done wrong; any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks,

Kamala

Edit: My bad, sorry for being an idiot. I wasn't logged in on that tab - when I scrolled back up on THIS tab I was able to view the attachments...sigh lol

Hi Kabouki, the stencils are .png files so all you need to do is save them in the right place and you will be able to add them to your stencils. I think the bitmaps and jpegs you might have to save as pngs in a program like photoshop or Irfarnview, the latter being free.
What you do is this I think.

1. Right click on picture
2. Select 'Save Picture As...'
If you have a PC follow below, if you have a Mac, I don't know.
3. Navigate to: Local Disk C > Program Files >Ambient Design > ArtRage2 > Resources > Stencils.

Save them all into Stencils folder.

Hope this helps :)

Thank You Jack, for the stencils, which equals FUN !

To load stencils on a MAC

Finder - your account (little house) - library - application support - artrage - resources - stencils. Drag and drop saved stencils ( control-click, on picture ). Shut down ArtRage and reopen. The PHP files would not display on my desk top but worked find after I dragged and dropped them into my stencil folder.

jacktar51
11-16-2008, 04:57 AM
1 .load any picture you want to put rain onto/then click on the eye symbol to turn your picture off (temporarily)..
2. click on add a layer.
3. select paper clour BLACK
4. using white chalk (on a very weak setting) rub all over the page
5.click the eye symbol next to your picture to turn it back on
6.start to turn down the percentage control on your rain paper, and the lower layer( The one with our picture on should start to show through the rain paper, keep on reducing the visibility of the rain until it looks right
7.Merge the two layers.

Your picture now has a rain effect.....Done.

Dear Jack, just wanted to let you know i tried one of your rain stencils on one of my pics as it is a rainy day today , wanted to try it out and your instructions were right on and i managed to do it, didn't know about the 'eye' :o thing and always wondered how to put on a stencil overlay without loosing the first picture, and can move the stencil around and make it smaller and larger and lighten or darken the raindrops,, so, many many thanks a whole bunch!!!:):):)
