View Full Version : Halloween doodle...

Alright, here's my "let's see what I can do without reference"-doodle, after having done those still lives. I did look at some anatomy, though, but everything else is of course completely improvised. Although I feel like I've learned a good deal about contrasts, my lighting still leaves wishes open and I think I'll have to get a real skull for learning... I'm kidding. Nah, I just need to practice more, more, more... but it's fun.

Season's greetings and a toast to Halloween!

Were you trying to portrait me? After seeing and try to learn and analyze from your stunning paintings for the past week. I don't need to buy Halloween costume. I look like that.

I think Van Taron is playing hookey from the Flemish school of messing with the eye from the 1600s or so.

Found his range.

Bullseye. . . in a dirty glass!

Hehe. Very cool painting. Your surfaces are fantastic.
Twisted is good.

I love this, it's got an almost 'old-master-esque' painterly feel, yet the subject matter is humourous (and a bit twisted, which is a good thing!)

I love the lighting/colours as well. Great stuff :)

LOL Taron!

This is the first time I have ever seen an artist that is able to make a skull/skeleton look sheepish and almost bashful at the same time

Very well done

Hello Taron....Nice picture mate, must say I like your style, crisp and clean, mine are always a bit smudgy and pixilated...never mind I will get it right one day...well done Taron, a classic painting.... Jack.

Incredibly twisted stuff - terrific use of the paintbrush and the blending tools. :)

Haha! And it's only taken me about a year to stumble across this Taron. Love the humour. Always pays to keep an eye on the last olive.
