Hi Weeks, just keep on posting!

I've done a lot of cats but in a muddled way, different method every time.
They ended up OK, but if I had used your method they would have been so much better! That line which fixes the top of the eyes would have helped a lot.

The fur is really great, The eyes are perfect. The great advantage of ArtRage over real paint will be the whiskers. Only ArtRage can paint them thin enough, real Rigger/Script brushes never came close.

insane! This expression in the cats face!

Excellent work and cant wait until its finished!

06-02-2006, 07:42 AM

06-02-2006, 10:57 AM
Man, that looks so much like Tycho the evil cat.

Very cool!

06-03-2006, 06:28 PM
Weeks- That is beauty with claws. Please don't feel you must applogize for doing the thing that makes this a place of genuine life and community. Post on my friend, post on!

Ah, that first image reminds me of how we were taught the principles of squash and stretch in a cel animation class I once has the fortune of taking. Your WIPs are always wonderfully enlightening, and I'm grateful for them. Looking forward to the final piece.

Hi again Weeks,

I've just had a really close look at the painting.
The top left hand corner is wonderful!
The light hitting the wall but the shadow still providing chiaroscuro, the ear lit through the skin, the odd hairs crossing the dark area. I have painted and sold a lot of cats but nothing anywhere near this good.

Simply amazing.

06-25-2006, 08:51 AM
The detail in this is phenomenal! That is such a brilliant rendition of Tycho.
Simply fantastic.

06-25-2006, 10:04 AM
Weeks- Mon ami. Your work is exemplary in technique, color and style. I'm thinking tycho is now one of the more famous cats in the contemporary world. It's not many domestic animals that have their name in the minds of people around the world. Your portrait is in a word, stunning.

06-25-2006, 10:13 AM
It is funny but the background reminds me of the Mona Lisa!

06-25-2006, 11:58 AM
ive got two cats.........

and you have the depth of the eyes and facial features perfeccct...

wonderful weeks

artrage will sell in the hundreds of thousands once every one sees this pciture and realised whcih software youve used

06-25-2006, 09:52 PM
wow the eyes are wonderful... so realistic ! Amazing.

06-26-2006, 04:22 PM
That is utterly awesome. It really IS Tycho, right down to the "cattitude" he has in his expression.

06-27-2006, 01:48 AM
Amazing work, I can't stop staring!!

06-27-2006, 04:38 AM
Amazing amazing work.. you've captured the lil kitty perfectly! I love the details you've put into this! So worth the effort done! Great job!

06-27-2006, 05:27 AM

How did you achieve the whiskers weeks, did you have to rotate your picture? I find doing lines particularly hard, I usually have to Ctrl Z lots of times until I get it exactly right. I love the way how you reply to everyone individually, so cool.

07-01-2006, 09:50 PM
Yes Eddie, windows to the soul. =) But with the close-up, we are seeing a window to Tycho's brain, through the ear canal. *giggle* (Je blague, eh?) =]

07-01-2006, 10:19 PM
