Heres some thumbnails to illustrate the use of layer cloning. I didnt want to repaint each tower so i duplicated and resized them. The one furthest away had opacity reduced to 70%

As usual, I did the sky and clouds first since they are furthest away... :D

amazing details! i love the very realistic light!

Only one little tip: the painting is almost flatten bt on the horizon are some thick paint stroke. If you disable the 3d lighting by pressing F5 you could get a "better" result!

Thanks everyone for the kind words... :D :D
Shirly... yea .. wish i could be there to see the real thing...
Pai .. a reference photo is needed for the buildings but no worries coz the early century impressionists and realist artists also depended on cameras and photos....
And caeser.. hehe.. ok now i noe who is Canaletto

Erwinsoo, if You found about him on internet or elsewhere and saw his paintings and read of his support technique (he was incredibly considered in Great Britain and Germany perhaps even more than in Venice and in Italy) then You know that it was a complimentary remark!!! :)
Actually he was, together with Guardi (also Venitian) the absolute master of realistic and Hyperrealistic view and nothing comparable in that sense existed till then except some previous flemish painting, to some extent and without such wide view, architectural precision and rich colours, one of the greatest Venitian masters inheritance. :)
