Just great Bob!! Looks like You devised a new quick technique for rendering tonal tree texture. Can You share the secret? Do You put few and similar colour stencils?

No. I don't do stencils. Started with impasto oils and then blended with the knife. Then more impasto and highlights. At the point you see this, it's about 4 hours into the project. Not quick in my world. :). Glad you like it my friend.

So how many layers you need to do this painting? It's very neat process. :)

Pai, the finished image is a composite of 5 layers and, I think, 3 different grains for the fore and middle ground, all on the basic canvas setting. The sky was done "impasto" ... just putting paint straight into the canvas ... and then using the knife to blend the colors and edges. The foreground highlights are done on the final layer with chalk and Jack's grass grain.
