I'm new to these forums, but thought I'd post this.
Just doodling, turned into more. I'm still getting used to the way ArtRage works, but I like it.
Done with free version.
Comments/Crits welcome!

lovely piece!
Is there any pipet function to pick up that "spot" color. Thought it wasn't available, but from what I can see you created next to the image, I could oversee it perhaps...

Did this one today, getting better I think. I went over it with some chalk to get some grittiness. I can't wait to try out the full version of this when I get some cash scraped together.
I Googled "pear" for a photo reference. See if you can find it? :)

Ooo what a lovely pear. (Now, does that sound like a line from a 'Carry on' movie or what!)
Seriously, that's really really well painted!
Awesome stuff, Nixon.

Here's today's sketch, from another googled mountain.
Thanks for all the compliments! ArtRage free demo has really helped me learn to paint better, since I can't be spoiled by layers and whatnot....
however, i still need to work on my rendering of lighting.
cheers,
Matt

Y'know, I love seeing painters' exercises. There's a great feel of discovery, order-in-chaos, fragment of brain, kinda thing with them.

Nixon- Please allow me to offer a belated welcome. These are a pleasure for the eyes. Sketch work is some of the best fun to see in my opinion. There is usually a freedom of line that is more candid and playful in sketch. More!
