Beautiful Bumble!

Only thing I would recommend is to perhaps consider placing the direction of your strokes on the horse in a direction that supports the volume. If you think of making cross-cuts of the horse's torso, the strokes would follow those lines around so long as the marks are this visible. It's working that way on the brown one. But the gray's not doing it is more visible.

That's just my thought. Many people wouldn't care one way or the other. But my thinking is that in a painting where there is such an obvious intention of getting it to look natural, then why not make the marks describe something more than just putting in color where it belongs.

Where you wouldn't need to bother with following form would be in a picture that the artist is more concerned with simply putting the paint down in a 2 dimensional way, but that sensibility would be consistently seen throughout the painting.

When one does the look I'm describing, it usually carries with it a sense of painting fast and loose, and your painting is anything but that. Yours feels careful and intent on getting it just right.

I really like your painting. I love the subject, the environment and the spirit of what it's symbolic of.

Hello Bumble...trust you to pick a subject such as this...a Very difficult subject, and you have done very well with it...a lot of artists would prefer to paint any other type of transport...heh...well done you...Jack.

Niice!! :D I love drawing horses.. they're so powerfull yet relyable. And then the history between humans and horses.. Allmost want to say to every horse "I owe you big time!". And I don't wish animals could talk, but humans could ehm.. roar and stuf :P

ps: Do I get a personal thanks too?

&@Bobbi: Those black&white horses look like cows :o
