"Apeneck Sweeney spread his knees
Letting his arms hang down to laugh,
The zebra stripes along his jaw
Swelling to maculate giraffe."

Sweeney among the Nightingales - TS Eliot

Your change in style is going well!!

Thanks Brett, I'm still experimenting with brushes, canvas and textures trying to emulate traditional watercolours. I only show a few attempts here - most are on the cutting room floor.:eek:

Another disaster in NZ.:(:(:(:(

I too am very familiar with the cutting room floor :)

Yes, things are not good up north from us. It’s mostly the east coast - Napier and Hastings - and the Bay of Plenty and the north through the Coromandel and Auckland and up into Te Tai Tokerau. It’s time to pay the piper, I fear! We mostly escaped with just some heavy rain (very little) and some winds today. We live on the piedmont of the Tararua Ranges and got considerable protection from them. We’ll cope, we always do :)

Now an earthquake in Wellington! Two of my granddaughters are touring the South Island. Haven't heard from them yet today. My geography is not too good. Wellington is in Nth Is. The girls are camping at Lake Tepko tonight and return home on Friday.

Don’t worry June, it was a pretty harmless earthquake. It was a good shake at 6.1, certainly shook our house well, but there are no reports of damage AFAIK. Yup, Wellington is at the southern end of the North Island but Lake Tekapo is half way down the South Island. Beautiful place, I have friends with a house there. You granddaughters will be fine although they may have wet feet!

Kia kaha (have courage)

I take that back! No wet feet, they are in the middle of a drought and temps of around 35 degrees!!
