Hi, I'm new to this forum and only started last weekend with artrage.
My first try was a youtube tutorial of a Bob Ross style landscape and now my second try is a picture of my dog. I love artrage so far, before I used krita but was overwhelmed with the menus and structure. I never found the brush that I needed. AR is so much cleaner and not cluttered at all and so far I'm very happy and keen to get familiar with the program.

Welcome hben to the forum. I love the water drops on your dog's nose. Good to read that you are enjoying ArtRage. Bob Ross style seems to be popular - pity the digital palette knife doesn't work like the real thing tho some artists have found a workaround. Not me I'm afraid.:confused::confused:

Hi hben and a warm welcome to the forums from me too:)
You’ve definitely hit the ground running there with your first post:cool:
I too love the simplicity of AR’s UI, leaving me free to concentrate on just painting.
And the Toolbox feature is a god send!

Thank you so much!

Sadly the last 2 days were inedible busy so I had no chance to continue - I will post my progress as soon I have something to show :)

I declare the picture finished - the highlights aren't right, but I'm at the point were any other adding makes it look worse (in my opinion).

Hello again hben, and I will declare your first painting here a success if I may!:cool:
Even if it doesn’t match the vision in your mind, you will have learned more than you realised while painting it.
All of which will feed back into the next painting, and so on, and so on…
Unfortunately for us artists I fear there is no end to this cycle!
There is always some aspect of a painting that we feel we could have done better!
But we move on and apply what we have learnt to the next painting. And so we grow.

Really good for a new user of AR. I am looking forward to more from you.:)
