does anyone have any techniques to painting carpet? here is the image I'm using.

Hi Shellcracker. One way would be to download a carpet image and once you have imported it to a layer apply an Overlay Blend Mode - it will then show the carpet texture above the painted layer. you can Transform the layer to get the right perspective for the floor.
