Hi Alex,
I'm intrigued by how you work on one section of the image at a time - not sketching it out first. You are a master of ArtRage landscapes. Do you work from a reference?

Hello Enug! Thanks! Yes, I paint from a photograph. I draw simple plots at once without a sketch. If the picture is complex, then I sketch it first.

The very content of the picture implies the presence of details. I think that without details, a picture on such a subject looked poor.:)

Well Alex, this one came as a bit of a surprise!
Your other paintings in this thread all, to me at least, have a feeling of depicting those moments just before or after an event.
But this new one throws us well and truly into the centre of the scariest of events, combat! And you’ve handled it really well.
I suspect this is not the first time you have painted such war scenes?

Thank you Enug! I think the picture will be very different if things don't calm down! It's an event from World War II. Now there are other wars. God save us from war!

Well, this one is a welcome calm after the noise and fury of the previous couple of paintings Alex!
Very calming :)

Looking at those naval paintings, you can see how far you have developed as an artist since painting them.

Thank you Markv! Yes, of course there is some progress, if compared with what was at the beginning of the creative path. I hope I don't leave this path in the future!:)
