I really like the attention you put into the nature of how the fur lies. All that variation seems both natural and it's visually interesting. It seems more deliberate and true to certain types of fur. Great job.

Go June!!!!!

Thanks DA - I have painted so many animals now that I have a 'road map' in my head as to how the fur lies. It doesn't vary much in the different species. Feathers are another thing tho.

I really like this:)
One of your best ones I think June. Totally nailed it:cool::cool::cool:
Sometimes letting these things stand for a few days is all that’s needed to find the way forward with them.
And I agree with you about feathers! Something I should really get back too exploring…

Thanks so much Mark. I couldn't get my image to look like the ref and so I put it away. Trying again it still didn't look like the reference image - it just took off in it's own direction so I went along for the ride!:D:D

Really great June, the way you use the low light to bring out the shape is fantastic.

Back over home we had a saying about being as dark as a black cat in a coal cellar, food for thought .

Thanks a lot Geoff. Yes, a black would be very hard to see in a coal cellar.:D
