Ah, cats and their snoozing poses. Gotta love the body language. You really nailed it here, June!

They have a knack for looking comfortable - their bodies just meld to whatever they are lying on.

Thanks Geoff - my cats like the bed too. Maxie likes to help me make the bed - more of a hindrance I would say.

Nice to hear from you Mark - how are you coping with the lockdown?

Let’s just say it’s not easy June, this third national lockdown has lasted some 6 weeks so far and probably won’t end soon.
But before that we had different regional levels of lockdown.
I think it was early October last year where I am we went into the highest local level lockdown.
And since then, switching between high local and national lockdowns has meant no practical difference for me.
All of which means it’s now been effectively some five months or so of continuous lockdown.
Yes, the UK’s vaccination program, which is a light at the end of the tunnel, is going surprisingly well, but the mental health and economic damage already caused is significant.

While life here is relatively normal - just checking in with QR codes when entering a business premise to enable tracking should a community case of infection occur - I am well aware that the UK and Europe are suffering. Of course, a northern winter probably doesn't help. As we are retired we are not affected but people have lost jobs and it will take some time for the economy to recover.

Our vaccine rollout starts on Monday with health workers and nursing homes receiving the first jab.

We had booked and paid for an overseas holiday last year which of course didn't happen, then we were to travel this May which again is not happening. We were in the process of re-booking for next year and found discounts applied to the first travel date would not now be honoured. So we have to wait until Dec.2024 when the deferment period ends to have our monies returned to us.

Such is life with the "new normal".;)
