using the oil brushes to paint skin?

I want to achieve a subtle oil painted effect for painting skin, but not the airbrushed affect. The colours just seem to come out very dense, even though I try to tweak the sliders to reduce the opacity and the loading and increase thinners.

I want subtle colour blending, but keeping the brush strokes. Is this possible and how? Thank you.

yes , you are right , you can try custom brushes which i prefer more than oil brushes

I'm glad its not just me. Where do I get custom oil brushes? Or do I make them myself?
